You are probably here because you recently adopted a non-toxic makeup routine, and that’s wonderful! The next step is finding a sustainable way to remove your makeup, and bonus points if it’s non toxic. I’ve found the dream combination: reusable makeup remover pads (that are eco-friendly) and a natural makeup remover or cleansing oil (that gently washes away impurities while hydrating your skin).

This combination goes hand and hand. Not only do you need an effective gentle cleanser to loosen your caked-on makeup but you also need some type of cloth to wipe it off.

Two reasons traditional makeup remover isn’t working

1. Traditionally disposable cotton pads are single-use, cannot be recycled, and in turn, contribute to a large amount of waste. Not to mention, they are non-biodegradable and often contain bleaching agents. In my best Randy Jackson voice, “it’s a no from me dawg“.

2. Additionally, in today’s beauty industry, skincare products are loaded with harmful chemicals that cause dry skin, cause skin irritation, breakouts, and can even disrupt our hormones. Choosing an effective yet safe product to rub off your makeup on the daily is super important.

Reusable Makeup Remover Pads

If you want to be an eco-girly like me, kiss those single-use makeup wipes goodbye and say hello to reusable makeup remover pads!

My recommended reusable makeup remover pads are eco-friendly and non-toxic. Easily remove makeup with them and when they are dirty just toss the used pad into the washing machine.

Here are some great eco-friendly alternatives to disposable face wipes.

Bamboo Switch Shop

My number one choice for reusable makeup pads are these from Bamboo Switch Shop. These Organic Bamboo Cotton Facial Rounds are handmade with organic cotton.

This sustainable product can last you over one thousand washes making them far superior to disposable cotton rounds.

Pair these with your favorite cleanser and remove even the toughest waterproof mascara!

Me Mother Earth

Me Mother Earth also has another fantastic option. These cotton rounds are made with 70% organic hemp cotton and 30% organic cotton. Hemp can reduce soil pollution, uses drastically less water, is antimicrobial and durable.

Me Mother Earth

Easily store your clean rounds in this beautiful bamboo box, which you can add to your order. It’s sleek, convenience, and can upgrade the look of your bathroom.

All Natural Makeup Cleanser

To compliment your reusable makeup remover pads, and to make the process so much easier, you need an all natural cleanser. This could be oil cleansers or balm.

These recommendations are made with natural ingredients and are perfect for sensitive skin. They will lubricate and soften your makeup for easy removal.
